A key feature of the new Center for Music Technology

An unparalleled resource in the region

The Sound Recording Technology (SRT) Studio:

  • The SRT Studio is the only facility of its caliber open to the public for use in the region.
  • Our Solid State Logic 9056 XL K sound mixing board is top-of-the-line – it is one of only a handful of working boards across the entire United States. Some of the artists or studios who own the same board include Jay-Z, NFL Films, Larame Studios, and Sky Walker Ranch (Lucas Films).
  • Our studio offers the infusion of the latest in digital technology, merging with the finest of analog technology.
  • The director of the Sound Recording Technology Program at the College, David Ivory, is a gold and multi-platinum, Grammy-nominated engineer and producer.
  • The SRT Studio was designed by the best in the business – Walters-Storyk Design Group, the designer of Electric Lady Studios for Hendrix, Jay-Z Studios, Jazz at the Lincoln Center and Alicia Keys Oven Studios.
  • Our students start in the studio during their first year – the College offers our students the completely unique experience to dive in to their experience with top-of-the-line equipment from day one.
  • Our SRT Studio is the newest component of our Center for Music Technology, which includes a radio/podcast interview recording suite, music technology labs and multiple recording studios.

This studio is a game-changer for the music industry in the region.

We need your support

Funding for the Sound Recording Technology Studio renovations have partially been made possible by a generous grant through the Pennsylvania Department of Education. Part of the grant requires a match to cover renovation costs, and as of April 1, 2018, we are only $265,000 from our goal.

We need your support to make our match goal – please consider giving to support this exciting resource for our students and community. To discuss funding opportunities or personal goals in making a gift, contact the Foundation at 215-641-6324.
